ballers ball 2011

This is definitely one of my favorite nights of every Spring Semester. We get out of our work out clothes and into something fancy. The hurdle girls decided we were all flying solo, good choice. While getting water I had a funny moment with a co-worker which ended up making for a fun night, but by far the funniest moment of the night...one of the basketball boys found some girls missing gelly bra (first of all, how do you loose something like that?) and while holding it up with a straw continued to yell out, "who lost their boobies?!" I'm not doing the episode justice with my explanation but it was hysterical. After the dance, I made my rounds taking some people home and then hung out for a bit. Another good night with all the Chico State Athletes, keeping it classy.

visitors!

Dad and Austin came to Chico to watch me run in our twilight meet, I was so happy to see them! They got here Friday morning, I had a crazy day so I didn't get to meet up with them until later, but we went to dinner at the Brewery...SO GOOD! Then Saturday I got a lovely wake up call from Austin telling me to meet him at the hospital because dad wasn't feeling well. I get there to find out my dad has a small kidney stone, and apparently those are extremely painful. My dad is tough though, he handled it like a champ. We were out of there and hour later, stone passed, and my dad feeling good. Went to breakfast at Morning Thunder, we got tea bar first...my FAVORITE...and I burnt my tough horribly (I'm clearly not the most patient person). After breakfast we hung out for a bit, went grocery shopping and then I had to get ready for my track meet. Dad forgot to bring his camera to the meet AGAIN (he did that last year) haha but no worries we were just happy to be there together...oh and I ran am amazing race. New PR, glad they were there to see that. The meet went really late so they left early, but we had breakfast and went on a hike Sunday morning and then they left. I was so happy to have them up here, I'm realllly trying to convince Austin to move up here next year :)

spike up

Track season, its a love-hate relationship, but at the end of the day its always true love. I love how no matter what kind of day I've had, I can leave it outside those gates. It's me, my teammates, coach and whatever workout he has in store for us...oh and the weather, good or bad that keeps us company too. (It also helps that we have the most amazing coach) Saturday is what we work for, but it's the Monday-Friday that keeps me coming back each year. The good days and bad. After 6 years of hurdling, I think this week I've finally started to work out some of the kinks. Well, we'll find out soon enough. <3
